Effect of NaCl Salt Stress on Growth, Ions and Organic Solutes Contents in a Local Cultivar Kpinman of African Eggplant (Solanum macrocarpon L) in the Republic of Benin

Aims: This research has as objective to evaluate the effect of NaCl salt stress on African eggplant plant growth and determine implication accumulation Na+, proline soluble sugars reduction K+ in detrimental this species.
 Study Design: The experiment was laid out a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) having five treatments three replications.
 Place Duration Study: carried screening house under natural conditions at International Institute Tropical Agriculture, Commune Abomey-Calavi. Republic Benin from June august 2022.
 Methodology: Five NaCI concentrations (0, 30, 60, 90 120 mM) were used irrigate four weeks old plants for two weeks. Plant growth, sodium (Na), potassium (K), proline, contents leaves roots determined end experiment.
 Results: Salt induced significant (P = .001) shoot root 30 : 60 or mM according parameter but had no impact water content. Leaf Na+ significantly increased whereas content deoreased .05) only root. Na change observed both leaf root.
 Conclusion: reduces due mainly ion toxicity. ionic selectivity ratio (K+/ Na+) rather than plays an important role response stress. Proline appeared not intervene.
